60 YEARS OF IEA-R1
The 60th anniversary of the operation of the first nuclear research reactor in Latin America, IEA-R1, was celebrated from November 28 to December 2 at the "International Workshop on Utilization of Research Reactors”, sponsored by the IPEN Research Reactor Center (CRPq).
This workshop brought together national and international researchers, students and and stakeholders to exchange information and knowledge related to different studies conducted in nuclear research reactors and nuclear security.

The event included panels, round tables, lectures and panel sessions. Among the highlights were nuclear security, the diversity of research and services provided by research reactors, from health applications, basic research and archaeology, among other fields.

The Student Chapter of INMM UFRJ was pleased to be represented by our faculty advisor, Professor Su Jian, in which he had the opportunity to present the chapter and to show some events that were carried out during these two years of existence.
